Launch of the Countering Violent Extremism Research Hub

The Centre for Human Rights and Policy Studies (CHRIPS) will on Wednesday, September 4, 2018 from 7:30-9:30am officially launch an online Countering Violence Extremism Research Hub as well as a new book on, ‘Confronting Violent Extremism in Kenya: Debates, Ideas and Challengesat Fairmount, the Norfolk, in Nairobi.

The CVE Research Hub is an online platform designed as a one-stop shop for researchers and policy actors working on CVE in Kenya and to support and facilitate high-quality research, and evidence-based policy work.The Hub is a joint initiative of the Centre for Human Rights and Policy Studies (CHRIPS, Kenya), and the Institute of Development Studies- University of Sussex and is supported by the Newton-Utafiti Fund, a research funding collaboration between the Kenyan and British governments.

The CVE book, ‘Confronting Violent Extremism in Kenya: Debates, Ideas and Challenges’, is a pioneering collection of critical analyses on a range of issues touching on violent extremism by a multidisciplinary team of scholars and scholar-practitioners. The book can be downloaded  a copy on the Countering Violent Extremism Research Hub.
