The Institute of Development Studies (IDS), Centre for Human Rights and Policy Studies (CHRIPS) and Saferworld will convene a half-day workshop on 9th June 2017, to explore the dilemmas for peace building and addressing conflict in a setting characterised by new extractive developments. How are these tensions playing out in the region, and what challenges do these raise for peace building stakeholders, including private investors who are expected to act in a conflict-sensitive manner?

The session brings together researchers, private sector actors, and sector experts to share perspectives on approaches to managing risks and promoting conflict sensitive engagement in the short and long-term.
